ARH and Trails Guide Assessments
The experienced team at Lowveld Trails Co. are accredited Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) assessors that conduct Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) & Trails Guide assessments. This includes;
Back-Up & Lead Trails Guide assessments on ‘Trails Guide Mentorship Trails‘ at ZAR 500.
ARH and Professional Trails Guide shooting assessments at ZAR 1600*.
As per FGASA, all Trails Guides are required to successfully complete an ARH assessment, and remain current, before they can be declared competent to conduct guided walks in a dangerous game environment.
Each candidate will first have to attain the required Unit Standards through the Professional Firearm Trainers Council (PFTC) before an ARH assessment may take place. The three Unit Standards are;
117705 – Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act.
119651 – Handle & use a manually operated rifle or carbine.
123519 – Handle & use a manually operated rifle or carbine for business purposes.
The candidate will additionally have to be a paid-up member of FGASA in order to secure an assessment date.
