Lowveld Trails Co. was founded in December 2015 by Wayne Te Brake and Brenden Pienaar – seasoned Wilderness Guides aligned with a deep passion for the raw and significant value of African Wilderness. With decades of experience walking some of the continent’s most remote landscapes, they shared a belief that the only way to truly connect with a place is to become a part of it through direct exposure on foot.
From the beginning, our purpose has been simple yet powerful: create experiences that go beyond the mundane traditional safari – journeys that reconnect people with Nature and, in doing so, with themselves. We believe that humans are biologically and psychologically bound to the natural world, and that intentional time in wild spaces restores something essential in all of us.

Lowveld Trails Co. is led by three passionate custodians of the wild – Tamsyn Pienaar, Brenden Pienaar, and Wayne Te Brake. With decades of combined leadership and guiding experience, they’ve built a company grounded in expertise, authenticity, and a deep respect for the African Wilderness.
