As a Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) accredited delivery partner, Lowveld Trails Co. specialises in training and mentoring Trails Guides and conservation professionals. Our highly qualified and experienced team all still actively guides Primitive Trails, ensuring that all instruction remains relevant and rooted in real-world practice. Our ultimate aim is to foster capable, thoughtful leaders who can engage meaningfully with the wild and guide others to do the same.
On the Lowveld Trails Co. FGASA-accredited Apprentice Trails Guide Course, candidates will receive personalised attention from their course facilitators and as much first-hand experience as possible. The course duration is 28 days, and the student group is limited to 8 participants.
Our Track & Sign Course teaches the art of identifying and interpreting the subtle clues wildlife leave behind. Set in the South African Lowveld, it reveals the ‘golden thread’ that connects species, landscapes, and the deeper rhythms of the natural world.
The Lowveld Trails Co. Team of Wilderness Trail Guides have extensive experience and some of the highest qualifications in their field. They are all actively involved in Trails Guide training and leading Primitive Trails on a regular basis, and among them are highly reputable FGASA Mentors.
Their curiosity encourages them to continuously learn and develop their own skills by engaging in experientially-based education.
Their passion, knowledge and experience, combined with the ‘soft skills’ that come from years of leading Primitive Wilderness Trails, make our Trails Guides capable of facilitating valuable and meaningful personal and educational experiences.
