Step into a world few will ever experience – a place where raw beauty, profound silence, and ancient landscapes awaken your senses.
This Trail is perfect for those seeking adventure and an intimate connection with one of the most remote and mesmerizing landscapes in Africa. Along the way, you may encounter unique wildlife such as gemsbok, springbok, bat-eared foxes, and other semi-arid adapted species, while experiencing the excitement of moving among iconic large mammals like eland and giraffe.
Far more than an activity, this fully immersive Primitive Trail allows you to participate in Nature, rather than simply observe it, following in the footsteps of our ancestors who roamed this land for thousands of years.

1. What wildlife can I expect to see?
You’ll have the chance to encounter species such as gemsbok, eland, springboks, scrub hares, bat-eared foxes, and various other semi-arid adapted species. The Kalahari is known for its rich diversity of wildlife, making every moment unpredictable and exciting.
2. What is the sleeping arrangement on Trail?
Each night, you’ll sleep under the stars with only a sleeping bag—no tents, just you and the vast, starry sky. This unique experience deepens your connection to the ancient wilderness. Participants also take turns sharing ‘night-watch duty.’
3. What is the terrain?
The terrain consists of mixed Kalahari woodland interspersed with large seasonal pans. The landscape is flat and generally easy to walk.
4. How often will I have access to fresh water on the Kalahari Primitive Trail?
Due to low annual rainfall in the Kalahari, the guides will do water drops prior to the start of Trail, providing guests with access to water every morning and afternoon.
!Khamab Kalahari Reserve scores our highest Wilderness rating. Contributing to this is the slim chance of seeing any sign of other humans, incredible wide open skies and vistas, the distinct wilderness atmosphere of the Kalahari and very healthy game densities. This area is unique, raw and remote, offering an unparalleled sense of freedom.
